Christmas Eve and Day 2008

This is as good as our family Christmas picture got this year. You take what you can get with a 16 month old! We went to Christmas Eve service with my family and then went back to my parents for supper and gifts. The kids again made out like bandits! And so did we - our family received a Wii game system from my parents. So, if you drop by our house and it is a disaster it is because we are spending all our free time mastering Mario Kart and Tiger Woods golf!

Again - this is as good as it got. Tate thinks its funny to run away from his sister. The only way I could get him close was to let him play with the camera case. What a pair, huh?
Teagan got the Baby Alive "that she's always wanted". Yeah since October! Anyway it poops and pees just like she asked for. How you may ask. Well, lets just say there is a strategically place tube from the baby's mouth to the other end - you can figure out the rest. We haven't tested out the pooping yet, but all we have to say is "Thank you Santa!"

Tate on the other hand didn't ask for anything specific, but got the fire truck Teagan told Santa about. He could have cared less because this peg set was the first gift he saw under the tree and would have been content with it being the only thing he got. It has a hammer and thats all a 1 year old really needs!

Brad and Teagan picked out this music set for the whole family to enjoy (Mommy was so excited. Can you sense the sarcasm?) This was the first of many concerts that we have enjoyed since Christmas morning. Tate is a great drummer - remember how much he loves hammers? Teagan is playing the recorder, but has also tried her hand at the tambourine, maracas, and others. For those of you who knew Linda she had to have been laughing her head off watching these two!!

Christmas 2008

Teagan and Tate visited Santa while in Des Moines. We were getting pictures taken at Flash with Will & Kate. They both did great sitting on his lap and Teagan told him all about wanting a "Baby Alive that poops and pees and a Barbie head that she could do hair and nails on." She also surprised all of us by deciding that Tate would like a firetruck from Santa. A great choice since Tate loves anything that makes noise and has wheels.

Tate wasn't sure what to think when he realized he was sitting on Santa's lap. He never cried, but it helped to have big sister sitting right beside him!

This is Tate and I riding in the train at the mall. He loved it, but not exactly sure how I managed to get in and out of that thing. I am sure it was like the clown car at the circus!!

Teagan enjoyed helping make cookies while Tate REALLY enjoyed eating them. Thanks to Christmas he can now say "Coo-key!"

My first attempt at blogging

So this being my first attempt at blogging I kept it simple and used our Christmas card picture. It was nice that all four of us were actually sitting down and the day was beautiful. Becca took the picture last fall at Brett & Jane's house. If all goes well more pictures and daily ongoings will follow.
