So, What Have We Been Doing?

Well, these 2 pretty much keep me on my toes and I just wanted to spend time this summer hanging out and doing stuff. So...

we took a day trip to Dubuque to the River Museum with my parents,

celebrated the 4th of July with great friends and family,

watched this turkey get into a ton of trouble, but so cute while doing it,

watched, coached, and played some Pee-Wee softball,

did some tractor rides with Grandpa,

Teagan went to a golf clinic and played in a couple tournaments,

Went to the zoo with Aunt Jess, Jackson, and Cole,

KINZE picnic,

hanging out with family,

swim lessons for both kiddos,

my Grandma got married,

Brad took his golf team to the State tournament.

Wow, looking back we really did have a lot going on. Not to mention working for a couple weeks, organizing a class reunion, a Schaefer/Van Zee trip to the Ozarks, golf leagues, trips to the pool, Jillian visiting and leaving for Vietnam, a couple weddings to attend, the list could go on. But as much as I may complain, we love our busy life and wouldn't trade it for anything!!

I'm back!

After a very long break I think I am refreshed and ready to re-enter the blogging world. There were numerous reasons for my hiatus
1) I didn't have a functioning computer at home for quite awhile
2) I got a bit addicted to my crackberry and FB - I know, stalkerish, but hey, it happens to the best of us
3) I was just plain lazy. I decided there would be no major to-do list this summer and I was just going to enjoy the time I have off.
So, here we are, the school year is almost upon us and what better way to jump back in than with a blog about my love of finding deals! The kids and I did a short power trip yesterday and Teagan and I spent the bettter part of today at the mall. Here is our haul:

It consists of: 2 pairs of jeans, 1 capri, 1 denim skirt, 4 tank tops, 1 denim short, 2 mid-length shirts, 7 short sleeve shirts, 1 long sleeve dress shirt, 1 dress, 1 3-piece dress outfit, 1 pair of HELLO KITTY flip-flops, 1 pair of PUMA shoes, an 8-pack of underwear, and a 5-pack of socks. The grand total you ask? Well, lets just say it was about what I pay for one week of daycare. My best moments were Teagan searching out the clearance racks right when we walked in a store. Ah...thats my child :)
Here are some of the picks:

(not her favorite, but I love it! So, if you see her wearing it could you play it up for me? Thanks peeps!)

Don't think Tater got jipped in this deal. He got more than whats in the picture, but there is no way he would ever try on more than one outfit, let alone model them for me. If you have a girl Teagan's age and need to do some cheap back-to-school shopping check out Sears, Crazy 8, and Younkers. Sears and Younkers have additional %off clearance right now and the jeans in the pics were $6.99 at Crazy 8!

So, there it is - I am back and ready to rock! And don't let me fool you - I do have to-do lists and some projects up my sleeve. You guys know me better than that!

Here and There

I have been horrible about getting on here and I am not sure exactly what we have been doing, but I guess its something! Anyway - I have been trying to get some stuff checked off my huge checklist. Here is one of them:

The top of our fridge drives me crazy! It is a catch-all for crap, so I covered it with my crap to solve the problem!

Dyeing Easter eggs:

We made a trip to Des Moines last weekend for some family time while Aunt Jill was home. So good to see her!

Saturday morning meant a trip to the Science Center and some rocket building with Grandpa! I can tell you who was more into it!!

Thats it for now. If Brad finally gets a golf meet in maybe we'll have some news to report on that. And I am sure there will be Easter pictures to share. Have a great Friday!

Schaefer Signs of Spring

Its almost here. Can you feel it? Spring!! I am a bit superstitous and will not say it is actually Spring because I know the minute I do we will be hit with one last dose of the "s" word or get a huge freeze. But until it is official I can look outside and see these: They came back! I was almost positive that the dog had made them her resting place one too many times and they were goners, but they are here. I guess hosta and lillies really are as hardy as everyone says. Easter is around the corner and the eggs and baskets are out. Thats about it for decorating for me. Here is how I plan on spending most of my time - my spring to-do list. It looks very long (and it is), but I really enjoy being able to check things off of lists, so if you look closely you might everyday tasks. That way I get to make a check on the list! Spring also means more events to add to our schedule. Brad has already started his high school golf season - in fact he has 4 meets just this week - awesome, right? Soon enough Teagan will be in full swing (no pun intended) with Summer Rec softball. Her first year of Pee Wee and of course, Brad will be coaching. And this momma will be sunning herself on the bleachers :) I figured since I put in a lot of single parent hours that I deserved a little treat too, so a new pair of golf shoes it is! They looked pretty good with my scaley, dry legs, so I can only imagine how amazing they are going to be with my soon-to-be tan, muscular legs. Heres to wishing!

Epcot

Here it is: WDW day 3 - EPCOT

You will hear that there isn't always a lot for kids to do at Epcot, but we found most of our favorite characters there.

We were there during a flower expo and they had some amazing displays.

Aladdin & Jasmine

Probably one of Tate's top moments of the trip. He was all about the Beast. Tate growled at him and the Beast got scared. You should have seen this kid's face! It was priceless. When we got home we watched the movie about 5 times!

Aunt Beth spent this day with us and it was great. She was about as excited as the kids to meet the characters. She also went with us to our Princess dinner with us and made the night even more special.

Mulan

Illuminations - an amazing show!

My parents and Derek & Jess took Tate so we could head to our dinner. He got some non-sister time and had a blast! How cute are these 2?
