Brainwashed!

I usually have some issues uploading videos, but here it goes.

Both my kids are completely brainwashed by us about Iowa football.

Tate loves Ricky Stanzi - check it out.

Somehow Teagan knows a ton of the players. Her, Tate, and Brad all make plays in the livingroom and each one of them is a different player. Hilarious!

Lets just keep it going Hawks!

Our Little Monsters

Who knew...
Darth Vader and Hannah Montana hung out?
Here is our trick-or-treating crew. My nephews and their cousins came over and the kids were off.
Did I say kids? I meant ALL the trick-or-treaters! My sister and my cousin Tiff joined the kids and got in on the action too. Tiff was Billy Ray Cyrus - Hannah's dad. Can you guess who Beth is?
Yep - Teagan! She thought since Teagan was her for Halloween and Hero Day (I know, this kid loves her aunt!) that she would return the favor!
She even carried treats for the trick-or-treating parents! All in all it was a good night for everyone!

Can't forget my big monster. Always a kid at heart!

Sugar Highs!

I know, its not even Halloween yet, but my kids were on an absolute sugar high today. I'm not sure that Tate had much sugar to begin with, but I did my part in making it worse!
Yep, you got it right! He has M&Ms, ice cream, and Sprite from McDonalds - all in one sitting. Please keep in mind that he already had a hamburger, fries, and some milk. I am a good parent. I really am.
After his "snack" Tate moved onto his newest pastime...
pillow piles!
He builds them as high as he can as then tries to jump on the top. He usually doesn't make it and ends up taking out the whole pile.

He has a blast and at least he isn't breaking anything - yet!
Of course Teagan had to get in on the action too!
You parents can appreciate the fact that they are at least working together!!
Her pile goes a little farther than Tate's.
I can't believe that Halloween is only 3 days away. I feel like I was just getting out my fall decorations. Now they are all on sale at stores!
Which is where I found these little punkins! The big ones were $3 each and the little one was $2. I happened to find them at a nursery/decor store in Iowa City a couple weeks ago. They were trying to make room for their Christmas stuff - crazy!!
This was my project for the week -
I had been looking for a side table for our bedroom. I really wanted to put one of my cheap lamps there ($3 at Lowes), but nightstands are ridiculously priced. On a whim I stopped at Stuff and here was this beauty. Just sitting in the basement. Drum roll please ...... $4.99!! YES!!
I picked up some faux satin this afternoon for $8 and this is how my new side table looks -
Love it!! Grand total - $16. The lampshade was free and might get a makeover sometime, but it works for now. I love having a dim light in rooms at night. It just makes my house feel softer. Plus, if you don't have the full lights on you can't see all the mess, right?

I am the old lady, but..

I still know how to have a good time. While celebrating our Hawkeye victory (8-0 Baby!!), my cousin Jaime's bachelorette party came in to our local watering hole.
So, I understand not being invited because I am the old lady, but let me tell you -I sure livened up the place!!
You're only as old as you feel and for some reason I thought I was 21 again. Oh well, you only live once!
Have a great week everyone!

I Love Pumpkins!

We all know fall is my favorite time of year and I love (seriously, I love it) carving pumpkins! These are 2 we did tonight. Teagan wanted a ghost and I decided to go with Tate's favorite - John Deere.
Drive by sometime and check them out. I am hoping to do more tomorrow.
The kids got in on the action. I can't tell you how many times I heared "Ew gross!"
The beginning of the week was so nice that even those stinky Asian Beetles came out to enjoy. Tate thought they were pretty cool crawling around the screen - until they started swarming him! Not such a big fan anymore!

The Raiders are facing off with the Clippers tonight. As much as I would love to be there enjoying it in person I am ok with my warm livingroom tonight. Good luck Raiders and
GO HAWKS!!!

Schaefer Sick Day

Here we are. All at home for the day. Teagan is the only officially sick kid, but Tate stayed home too because I don't like the fact that he could get sick later too.
Teagan has been a trooper and has been eating and wanting to play. I am hopeful that this is a bad cold and will work its course quickly.
On my way home from school this morning I picked up a couple movies for this afternoon and evening. Tate is watching a movie about (you guessed it) things with wheels! Teagan and I are planning on "Race to Witch Mountain" later this afternoon.
The windows are open and thankfully it is a gorgeous day. Makes it much easier to feel better. Wish that was all it took! Wish us luck!
Oh yeah, can't forget: 7-0 Baby! Go Hawks!

Happy Birthday to My Mommy

The kids were so sweet over my birthday and sang "Happy Birthday" about 50 times.

In fact, Tate is still singing it, with a little encouragement from his dad. What a sweet boy!
